Deduction, not guessing
Every fair grid has one solution. Balance the two symbols, eliminate impossible triples, and combine link clues until each move is forced.
Cats. Dogs. Pure deduction.
Paws & Pairs is a relaxing Takuzu-style logic puzzle for iOS and Android. Balance cats and dogs, avoid three matching animals in a row, follow same-or-different links, and solve every grid by deduction—never guessing.

Built around the outcome
Every fair grid has one solution. Balance the two symbols, eliminate impossible triples, and combine link clues until each move is forced.
Move from the relevant cells to the rule and then the deduction. Reveal an answer only when you decide you need it.

How it works
Every grid follows the familiar rules of Takuzu, Binairo, binary Sudoku, and Tango-style puzzles—reimagined with cats, dogs, teaching hints, and three ways to play.
Place equal numbers of cats and dogs in every row and column. A nearly complete line often forces its remaining cells.
Never place three cats or three dogs consecutively, horizontally or vertically. Two matching neighbors force the cells beside them.
A double-line clue means two neighboring cells match; an × means they differ. Combine those relationships with the balance and no-triples rules.

Fill every cell with one of two symbols, keep equal numbers of each symbol in every row and column, and never place three identical symbols consecutively. In Paws & Pairs, cats and dogs replace zeroes and ones, while link clues add same-or-different relationships.
Learn moreEach row and column must contain the same number of cats and dogs, no line may contain three matching animals together, and every = or × link must be satisfied. Each Paws & Pairs grid has one solution reachable by logic.
Learn moreScan for a line that is almost balanced, a pair that would create a triple, or a link whose neighbor is already known. Paws & Pairs can highlight the relevant cells and explain the rule before revealing a move.
